AMA Supersport: Elena Meyers Breaks Arm

AMA Supersport News

After a great start in the 2011 AMA SuperSport series at Daytona International Speedway in March, Suzuki Scoop Fans rider Elena Myers has broken her left arm.

The 17-year-old California native fractured her left arm while competing in a Supermoto race Monday at Stockton Motorplex Park, Stockton, Calif.

Meyers is expected to miss the upcoming test session at Miller Motorsports Park May 3-5, but is hoping to return for Round 2 of AMA SuperSport West race at Infineon May 13-15. Meyers is expected to only race in the SuperSport West series for 2011.

In Meyers’ debut race on the SuzukiScoopFans GSX-R600, Meyers finished sixth in race 1, and seventh in race 2; her finishes placed her in second in the AMA SuperSport West Championship. She became the first woman to win a Supersport race in 2010.
