Following up on the success of its EOX line of helmets, Gloucester, England-based Ruroc has moved on to the EOX2.0 lid. The new Ruroc EOX2.0 helmet carries over essential elements from its predecessor while updating impact protection, the electronics package, and interior comfort.

“The EOX2.0 is the result of taking our original ground-up EOX model and pushing it even further based on community feedback,” Ruroc Head of Marketing Laurence Jones tells us. “By maturing the design and elevating the materials to align with the high-end sport-touring market, we’ve created a helmet that performs at the highest level while providing the premium feel necessary for those long-range rides where every detail matters.”

The EOX2.0 retains the carbon-fiber/Kevlar/fiberglass/nylon hybrid shell used for the EOX, which helped the helmet achieve dual certification: DOT and ECE 22.06. Inside, Rheon technology is used to address linear and rotational forces that can be delivered to a helmet in a crash.

The Ruroc EOX2.0 features a Smart Medical ID system that stores your essential medical information in an NFC tag embedded in the rear of the helmet. A Twiceme logo alerts those attending to you that the information is available and readable by an NFC-capable smartphone. Like the NFC in a credit card, it does not require a battery to stay active, and there’s no subscription fee. Ruroc has produced a video that explains the process of loading information into the helmet.

There’s an all-new liner on the EOX2.0. It is 25 percent thinner than the EXO liner and uses Merino wool for a luxurious feel. The cheek pads have been redesigned for improve fit and helmet stability. The magnet-based Fidlock chinstrap returns.
Additionally, the helmet is designed for improved acoustics for use with the optional $199 Cardo-based EXO Shockwave integrated mesh intercom system.

Although Ruroc is known for its wild graphics, including licensed characters from popular culture, the initial run of the EOX2.0 keeps it relatively simple. There are ten colorways to choose from, with Alloy being the most striking and Eclipse aimed at under-the-radar riders. Personalization comes in the form of a wide variety of optional $65 faceshields, with colors ranging from clear to Purple Iridescent. A Photochromic shield is available for $99.
Early adopters of the Ruroc EOX2.0 helmet will get the $199 non-mesh Shockwave Bluetooth intercom included. Pricing for the EOX2.0 ranges from $575 to $699.
