In a largely processional race at the top of the leader board, Jett Lawrence led every lap of both motos, going 1-1 to win the 2026 Hangtown Classic, the 2nd round of the AMA Pro Motocross National Championship Series. Hunter Lawrence finished P2 in both motos, and Haiden Deegan had a pair of P3 finishes to solidify the podium.
In Moto 1, Deegan ran in P2 for the first 13 of 18 laps before yielding to the pressure of Hunter. In Moto 2, Hunter rode in P2 the entire race, only challenging Jett early. Deegan turned a P9 start into P3 by lap 6, when he passed Chase Sexton for the final podium position.
Dylan Ferrandis went 4-6 on the day, for P4 overall. Garrett Marchbanks’ 6-5 day was good enough for the final top-five spot. RJ Hampshire went 5-7 for P6, ahead of Chase Sexton, who had an 11-4 day after a crash in the first Moto. Jorge Pardo, who was P2 overall last week in the Fox Raceway National, had a tough day at Prairie City SVRA. His 36-13 results, with a technical problem in Moto 1, left him in P17 for the day, dropping him from P2 in the standings to P7.
The series resumes on Saturday with the Thunder Valley National in Lakewood, Colorado.
