The 2026 AMA Pro Motocross Championship Series heads back to the West Coast for round 8 with the Lawrence Brothers continuing two impressive streaks. The pair has combined to win every moto, and both have been on the podium for every round. With that momentum as a backdrop, let’s focus on our 2026 Washougal Motocross fantasy picks and tips.
The momentum has swung in the direction of Hunter Lawrence. Hunter has won four of the last five motos and opened up a 10-point series lead over his brother Jett. With that recent history, you have to go with Hunter to win the Washougal National.
Hunter Lawrence (#96) battles Jett Lawrence.
Jett Lawrence had a rough go at the Spring Creek National last week. His 2-5 performance was his worst since the Fox Raceway opener. However, just one small mistake took the overall away from Jett. He will always be a threat to win, though right now P2 seems like Jett’s final position at Washougal MX Park on Saturday.
Haiden Deegan.
Haiden Deegan remains a strong P3 choice. Deegan has yet to beat either of the Lawrence brothers unless one crashes. Crashing is unpredictable, so Deegan is stuck in P3 until he can beat Hunter or Jett straight up.
Jorge Prado.
Jorge Prado and RJ Hampshire will squabble over P4. It’s not easy to choose between them. Prado is on a 4-2-4-6 overall run, with Hampshire going 8-4-8-4 over the same period. Given the up-and-down nature of their performances, it looks like it’s Prado’s turn to retake P4 overall.
Garrett Marchbanks.
Garrett Marchbanks is a strong P5 contender. If you buy into the feast-or-famine performances of Prado and Hampshire, you still need a good P5 choice. Marchbanks struggled to P9 last week. However, he had gone 5-4-6-5-5 in the five previous weeks. If Marchbanks’ stumble last week concerns you, put Hampshire in P5. Also, if you’re a Justin Barcia fan, he was P5 last Saturday, though that was through an unlikely 5-8 performance. Taking all that in, I have Marchbanks down to return to the top five and his P5 overall position at the Washougal National.
Jordon Smith.
Jordon Smith is your P10 Wild Card. He’s on a 9-11-10-10 overall trajectory. You can’t get much more P10 than that. Note that the last time Smith didn’t finish the day in P10, Barcia took that spot.
