2027 Aprilia SR GT 400 First Look: 9 Adventure Scooter Fast Facts

Aprilia is bringing a scooter to North America, and it’s one designed to appeal to adventure motorcyclists. The SR GT 400 is a mid-size scooter built around a steel motorcycle-style frame, a 399cc single, and off-road-ready hardware. It reaches US dealers as soon as this month. Here is what riders need to know.

  1. The price of the 2027 Aprilia SR GT 400 starts at $7299. A choice of two colors is available: Rugged Black and Dusty Grey. The Rally Replica version runs $7499 and delivers cosmetic upgrades and the Aprilia MIA connectivity system as standard equipment. Both scooters share the same engine and chassis.

  1. Power comes from a 399cc SOHC single. The liquid-cooled, 4-valve motor makes 36 hp at 7500 rpm and 28 lb-ft of torque at 5700 rpm. Aprilia calls the motor the 400 hpe Euro 5+. According to Aprilia, the 400 will cover 197 feet from a standing start in 5 seconds. Aprilia also claims fuel consumption of about 61 mpg for a range of over 185 miles from its 3.2-gallon fuel tank. The engine meets Euro 5+ emissions standards.

  1. The frame is the heart of Aprilia’s motorcycle pitch. The SR GT 400 uses a double-cradle frame made from high-strength steel tubing, built in the same Veneto factory as Aprilia’s Noale sport bikes. Featuring a steep steering head angle to shorten trail and sharpen low-speed handling, Aprilia says the setup balances agility with stability at highway speed. With a 410-pound curb weight, the scooter claims a class-leading power-to-weight ratio.

  1. The suspension and brakes come straight from the motorcycle world. An inverted 41mm fork handles the front wheel action with 4.7 inches of travel. Out back are a pair of piggyback-reservoir shocks, also featuring 4.7 inches of travel. The front brake is a 300mm floating disc with a radial-mount 4-piston caliper and sintered pads; the rear is a 240mm disc grasped by a 2-piston caliper. Bosch dual-channel ABS is standard, and can be switched to the front wheel only for off-pavement excursions.

  1. The SR GT 400 is built to leave the pavement. Model-specific Mitas Enduro Trail-ADV 2 tires are spooned on the 16-inch front and 14-inch rear wheel pairing. Ground clearance measures 7.5 inches, resulting in a seat height of 32.3 inches. Hand guards, a wide handlebar, and an upright riding position all borrow from adventure motorcycles.

  1. Rider aids match those on motorcycles. A 5-inch color TFT display anchors the dash and adjusts between day and night modes. There are two levels of traction control, along with off, all adjustable on the fly. The rider can set it up so that when the traction control is disabled, the Aprilia SR GT 400 will also shut off rear-wheel ABS. Keyless start is standard, along with a Bike Finder feature that flashes the turn signals in a crowded lot. The optional Aprilia MIA system adds smartphone connectivity, calls, music, and turn-by-turn directions on the display.

  1. Not restricted to adventuring, the 2027 Aprilia SR GT 400 also works in an urban environment. The underseat compartment swallows a full-face helmet, and the smaller storage between your legs houses a USB-C charging port. The 5-position windscreen adjusts over a 2.75-inch range without tools. The fuel tank holds 3.2 gallons, and the estimated fuel consumption is 61 mpg. An optional top box mounts to a rear rack for longer trips.

  1. The Rally Replica trades subtle for bold. This version draws its matte-black livery and graphics from the Aprilia Tuareg that won the last two editions of the Africa Eco Race. It adds gold-colored fork stems, red shock springs, a dedicated saddle with a red rear strip, and large Aprilia lettering down each flank.
  1. This new Aprilia is an aggressive move into the US scooter market. The SR GT 400’s price undercuts its closest street-only competitors. Suzuki’s 2026 Burgman 400 carries an $8949 MSRP, and BMW’s 2025 C 400 GT starts at $8445, both well above the 2027 Aprilia SR GT 400’s $7299 base price.
