Moto Guzzi will open a new factory and a new museum at its historic home in Mandello del Lario, Italy, during the Moto Guzzi World Days rally from September 3 to 6. The company is billing it as the largest gathering in the event’s history.
Both buildings sit inside the original perimeter of the factory on the eastern shore of Lake Como, where Moto Guzzi has built motorcycles without interruption since 1921. The opening coincides with the brand’s 105th anniversary.
The new plant will build Moto Guzzi’s current and future models using updated technology, replacing older production space on the same site. The company says the facility is meant to carry the brand forward while keeping manufacturing in Mandello.
The new Moto Guzzi Museum will house the brand’s collection and tell the story of more than a century of engineering and design. Moto Guzzi describes the new complex as a place where the factory’s history and its newest technology are on display side by side.
Alongside the museum, the site adds public space, including the large Motoplex Store for merchandise and parts, a café, and rooms for workshops, events, and interactive exhibits.
The event is open to the public and free of charge for the four days of the rally. However, attendees must register in advance at the Moto Guzzi GMG 2026 webpage, where the full schedule is also posted. GMG stands for Giornate Mondiali Moto Guzzi, the Italian name for Moto Guzzi World Days.
Tens of thousands of riders and fans are expected to travel to the town for the event. A central attraction is the grand parade on Saturday morning, when thousands of Moto Guzzi motorcycles from every era are set to ride together from nearby Lecco into Mandello del Lario.
The program also brings four days of live music on a stage run by Virgin Radio, a street food area, and free test rides across the full Moto Guzzi lineup.
Founded in Mandello del Lario in 1921, Moto Guzzi is one of the oldest continuously operating motorcycle manufacturers in the world and is known for its transverse V-twin engines. The brand is part of the Piaggio Group.
