With a 2-1 performance at the Washougal National, Hunter Lawrence extended his lead by two points over his brother Jett in the 2026 AMA Pro Motocross Championship Series. Jett went 1-3, with his second moto results compromised by a crash while in the lead and a one-position penalty for accelerating off-track. Hunter leads Jett by 12 points with six points-paying motos remaining.
Jett won the first moto handily, beating Hunter by over 7 seconds. Jorge Prado was a distant P3, over 51 seconds behind the winner. Haiden Deegan rebounded from a second-corner crash after taking the holeshot, working his way up to P4, 22 seconds behind Prado. Dylan Ferrandis and Justin Barcia rounded out the top six.
Hunter led the first 8 laps of the 16-lap Moto 2 before losing the top spot to Jett. However, a lap after taking over the lead, Jett crashed, dropping him to P2 and in danger of being overtaken by Deegan. Jett was able to gap Deegan late in the race and made a run at leader Hunter. Prado started in P12 and worked his way up to P4 on lap 9, which is where he finished. Ferrandis repeated his P5 Moto 1 performance in Moto 2.
Deegan’s 4-2 day leaves him 57 points behind Jett in the standings. Prado is 29 points shy of Deegan, with RJ Hampshire 17 points beyond Prado.
The series takes two weekends off and returns on August 15 at Unadilla MX in New Berlin, New York, starting the season-ending run of three races.
