The 2024 Suzuki Hayabusa 25th Anniversary Edition celebrates a quarter-century of the hyperbike with aesthetic touches that set it apart from the standard model. Hayabusa is the Japanese word for the peregrine falcon, the world’s fastest bird, and underneath this edition is the third-generation model that debuted for 2022.
The paint is Glass Blaze Orange & Glass Sparkle Black, a popular combination from the Gen II Hayabusa. A red V-shaped graphic is unique to this edition.
A 25th-anniversary emblem sits on the fuel tank, the Suzuki lettering on the tank is raised, and each muffler is etched with 25th-anniversary logos.
The drive chain plates carry the Hayabusa Kanji logo. The standard single-seat cowling has gloss-black trim, and the front disc carriers and drive-chain adjusters are gold anodized.
The 1340cc inline-4 makes 188 horsepower at 9700 rpm and 111 lb-ft of torque at 7000 rpm. The third generation has more than 550 new parts, most of them in the engine. The rebuild made low-to-midrange power smoother and stronger, and delivery is linear across the rpm range. A 6-speed transmission with a quickshifter and an assist-and-slipper clutch are standard, and traction and wheelie control help manage the power.
The twin-spar aluminum frame carries fully adjustable KYB suspension and Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22 tires. Brembo Stylema calipers grip the 320mm front discs, and ABS is cornering aware with linked braking. At 582 pounds, with a 58.3-inch wheelbase, it takes some muscle to handle hard.
This generation is as capable on a road circuit as on a drag strip, and tweaked ergonomics and refined power suit comfortable street riding and sport touring. The seat height is 31.5 inches, and the fuel tank holds 5.3 gallons. Suzuki set the list price at $19,599.
