The 2024 Harley-Davidson Hydra-Glide Revival is the fourth Icons Collection limited edition. It celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Hydra-Glide telescopic fork, which replaced the springer front end on the 1949 FL. Built on the Softail platform and based on the Heritage Classic 114, it is limited to 1750 numbered examples.
Styling sets it apart. Redline Red and Birch White two-tone paint duplicates the 1956 graphics, the Harley-Davidson V tank badges and Hydra-Glide fender badges replicate mid-1950s pieces, and the lower half of the detachable windshield is tinted Redline Red. An Icons Collection graphic is on the rear fender, and a numbered plate is on the handlebar clamp.
Chrome covers the air cleaner, valve covers, exhaust, fork covers, headlight nacelles, rims, engine guards, seat frame, and handlebar. The solo seat has red stitching and white piping, and black leather fringe, studs, and conchos decorate the seat valance, tank strap, and saddlebags. The tank-mounted speedometer has 1950s-style graphics.
Functionally, the Revival differs from the Heritage Classic mainly in its rear suspension, which has an inch less travel for a lower stance. The Showa Dual Bending Valve fork has 5.1 inches of travel, wire-spoke 16-inch wheels wear Dunlop D401 tires, and the Revival weighs 742 pounds, 14 more than the standard Heritage Classic.
The Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-twin breathes through a Screamin’ Eagle High Flow air cleaner and produces 94 horsepower and 119 ft-lbs of torque at 3000 rpm. Its muscular torque at all revs makes quick work of stoplights, and it sends more vibration to the grips and floorboards than the 117 in Harley’s Grand American Touring models.
Equipment is basic: ABS, cruise control, and triple LED headlights, with a single front disc. The saddlebags lock and are water-resistant, the solo seat is low, the handlebar is tall and wide, and floorboards give the feet plenty of room.
Harley-Davidson lists the 2024 Hydra-Glide Revival at $24,999, $1500 more than the two-tone Heritage Classic 114. It is for riders who want a cruiser that doubles as a light tourer, wrapped in collectible 1950s style.
