The Klock Werks team designed and built the bike at its Mitchell headquarters. Mickey Harris of Menno, S.D., executed the paint, drawing on Jack Daniel’s heritage for the scheme. The shop revealed the Challenger to a packed house, with spectators watching from the floor and the second-level mezzanine as riders passed through town on their way to the rally, 300 miles west.

The build continues a 12-year working relationship between Klock Werks and Indian. Brian Klock’s shop has led design on the annual Jack Daniel’s limited-edition Indians since that series began in 2016, including the Springfield, the Chief Vintage, the Chieftain, and the Challenger Dark Horse. Those bikes have sold out in minutes.

After the unveiling, riders left Klock Werks in a group ride to downtown Mitchell, kicking off the free street party on Main Street in front of the Corn Palace. Redferrin closed the night with an outdoor concert at the Corn Palace Plaza stage. The Tennessee singer broke through with “Jack and Diet Coke,” which has passed 160 million streams and earned RIAA gold certification. He also charted with “Just Like Johnny.”
Klock Werks ran an open house from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. before the ride downtown. The day started with the shop’s morning meeting, where the crew shares wins, reflections, and prayers before work begins.

Downtown, the party ran from 5 to 10 p.m. It included the Quick Draw exhibit, the 301 Rodz car show, the Shifter Crew motorcycle show, a kids zone, Strider bike demos, food trucks, LFG 1904 biker games, a mechanical bull, Two Rivers vintage tractors, and stunt shows by Rob of One Wheel Revolution.

Young up-coming builders and legends congregated to make a community day of fun and motorcycles,” said President Brian Klock of Klock Werks. “Thanks to Indian Motorcycles and Jack Daniel’s for 15 years of design excellence celebrated today with Redferrin.”

Klock Werks opened in 1997 and built its name on the patented Flare windshield. The shop also makes fenders, handlebars, and other powersports parts, and has set records at the Bonneville Salt Flats.
The Palace City Pre-Sturgis Party started at the Klock Werks shop in 2007 and has grown into one of the largest send-offs to Sturgis in the region.
The 2026 Harley-Davidson Deadwood is the newest cruiser in the Softail lineup, and it arrives with a familiar recipe. The Motor Company took the Heritage Classic, lowered the rear end, chopped the windshield, fitted a solo seat, and painted nearly everything Denim Black. The name comes from the Black Hills town with an outlaw history of its own and a strong connection to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Keith Code founded the California Superbike School in 1980, and it has subsequently grown to be the largest motorcycle track training school in the world. Teejay Adams is an experienced rider, but has still found that she has hangups and limitations to her riding. So, she called Keith’s son Dylan, who now runs the Superbike School with his wife Lara. Teejay went to the 2-day school at the Ridge racetrack in Washington state recently, and absolutely loved it. She tells us exactly what she found out and how it has helped her riding.
