Eli Tomac leads.

Eli Tomac took his first win of the 2024 Monster Energy AMA Championship Series with a 1-1-1 sweep of the St. Louis Triple Crown race. The perfect score was not without drama, as an awkwardly placed red cross flag at the finish line caused Jett Lawrence (who crossed the finish line in P1), Cooper Webb, Chase Sexton, and Jason Anderson to be penalized two laps (Anderson twice) when they jumped the finish line double.

The penalty meant that instead of Tomac and Lawrence going into the final Triple Crown Race tied, Tomac lied up with a 1-1 score compared to Lawrence’s 2-3 placings. However, a hard tangle between Lawrence and Justin Barcia made the penalty academic, as Lawrence was injured and finished the race in P21. Webb’s 5-6-2 scorecard was improbably good enough for P2 with Hunter Lawrence’s 8-2-4 rides also unexpectedly putting him on the podium. Jett Lawrence’s 2-3-21 tally put him in P8. Inconsistency continued down the order, with Aaron Plessinger going 3-8-6 for P4, just ahead of the 10-5-3 by Sexton, and P6 finisher Barcia (6-4-10).
