Laguna AMA Racing: Suzuki on Podium

AMA Pro Racing News

Suzuki was on the podium at Laguna Seca, thanks to the power and performance of the winning GSX-R line of motorcycles and the experienced talent of the Suzuki AMA racers.

Both Martin Cardenas and Tommy Hayden took home motorcycle racing trophies from Monterey, California, this weekend in their respective classes, Daytona Sportbike and AMA American Superbike.

Cardenas added another breathtaking win to his growing list of accomplishments at Laguna Seca on Sunday morning. He and his Suzuki GSX-R600 took their sixth victory in the Daytona Sportbike race and added valuable points to his tally in the extremely competitive class, where he’s currently third in the standings.

Cardenas made some key passes midway through the race as his GSX-R600 delivered all the power he needed to make it to the front of the pack. He held onto the lead until he reached the checkered flag.

In the American Superbike class, Tommy Hayden and his GSX-R1000 took third for the day after a solid performance during the race. He held his ground and rolled on the smooth power of the GSX-R to maintain his podium finish. He’s currently second in points and only nine points out from the lead.

In the Supersport West class, Elena Myers just missed the podium with her GSX-R600 as she finished fourth in the hotly contested series. She’s currently second in points in the SuperSport West standings.

The next race is slated for August 13-15 at VIR in Alton, Virginia. Suzuki’s talented racers and their GSX-Rs will be ready to race for the win there!
