The Aprilia X 250TH is a limited-production, track-only evolution of the RSV4 platform developed by Aprilia Racing, representing the sixth generation of the “X” program. Built to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence by the thirteen united States of America, just 30 units will be produced. Twenty-five numbered examples are 25 allocated to the U.S. market at an MSRP of $150,000. It is positioned as the most extreme RSV4-based machine ever offered to the public, integrating MotoGP-derived systems not found on any current production motorcycle.

- The Aprilia X 250TH is directly derived from the RSV4 1100 Factory platform, though it’s heavily upgraded. The foundation of the X 250TH is a non-street-legal RSV4 1100 Factory extensively reimagined by Aprilia Racing. Those are the same folks who dominated the 250cc Grand Prix class way back when and are seeing loads of success with their state-of-the-art Aprilia RS-GP prototype, which has claimed two consecutive MotoGP race wins in the 2026 racing season. It traces a lineage that began with the RSV4 X in 2019 and continues through successive “X” models, most recently with last year’s Aprilia X-GP.
- Aprilia’s V4 engine is a heavily revised SBK-spec unit producing 240 horsepower. The 1099cc 65-degree V4 delivers 240 horsepower at 13,750 rpm and 97 lb-ft of torque at 11,750 rpm, with a redline of 14,100 rpm. Updates include an increased compression ratio, a revised airbox with MY25 throttle bodies and intake trumpets, a Sprint racing air filter, a lightweight titanium SC Project exhaust system directly derived from Aprilia’s MotoGP program, and an STM dry clutch.
- Yes, your eyes do not deceive you: you’re staring at a full-carbon braking system on a bike you can buy (if you sell a few kidneys). Aprilia says the X 250TH is the first production motorcycle equipped with carbon-carbon brake discs, paired with carbon pads and Brembo GP4-MS billet-aluminum calipers — all MotoGP-grade hardware. However, Ducati is also making the same claim with the limited-edition Ducati Superleggera V4 Centenario, also unveiled at the 2026 MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas. The 340mm high-mass discs weigh approximately 50 percent less than the steel rotors they replace, significantly reducing gyroscopic forces. Meanwhile, the pads are about one-third lighter than sintered equivalents, also improving thermal efficiency and braking performance under extreme conditions.
- All that aerodynamic bodywork is lifted from the Aprilia RS-GP race bike. While RSV4 elements are still clearly visible, the bodywork replicates the airflow strategies of Aprilia’s MotoGP machine, incorporating seat wings, tail wings, and additional aerodynamic elements, including front, under, and cornering wings. These components can increase downforce during braking and cornering, enhancing stability and rear grip, provided you have the skill to use them. A patented ground-effect system generates downforce through the side fairings when the X 250TH is leaned over. Compared to the RSV4, vertical load is increased fivefold on straights and threefold during cornering, reducing wheelies and improving tire contact.
- The RSV4’s trusty twin-spar aluminum chassis is in play, with plenty of upgrades bolted on. Aprilia’s superbike has made quite a reputation for itself with its impressive chassis manners. With the limited-edition Aprilia X 250TH, owners will enjoy race-spec Öhlins FKR pressurized fork and TTX shock.
- Lightweight forged magnesium Marchesini wheels are fitted with World Superbike-spec Pirelli Diablo Superbike slick tires. Even more interesting is that we’re seeing WSBK-spec tire sizes here, including the Pirelli SC-1 compound 125/70 front and SC-X compound 200/65 rear.
- A WSBK-derived APX control unit allows far more electronic control than standard production models. Full-blown professional-grade race machines can control rider aids to a much higher degree than their road-going cousins can. Upping the ante in that department is the Aprilia Racing APX ECU, which allows full adjustment of traction control, engine braking, power delivery, and front-lift mitigation on a per-gear basis. An integrated GPS system enables precise track-based tuning, aligning the bike more closely with World Superbike configurations than any current RSV4 model.

- Extensive use of carbon fiber and other lightweight materials reduces the dry weight to a few ounces under 364 pounds. Carbon fiber is used throughout the fairings, aerodynamic components, and the structural seat support. Titanium components further cut weight. Usually, we’d knock a brand for citing a dry weight, seeing as we don’t ride motorcycles without fluids, but we’ll let it slide in this limited edition’s case.

- Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola makes the pitch for Noale: “Once again, Aprilia Racing introduces an exclusive product which is even closer to a MotoGP bike. The Aprilia X 250TH is clearly an item for true connoisseurs – something unrivalled. Over the years, the X bikes have become highly sought after for both collectors and for those seeking to experience a thrill that is extremely close to what MotoGP riders feel.”
- The Aprilia X 250TH is asking a $150,000 question. Wrapped in Stars and Stripes livery, this motorcycle is a far more interesting way to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Loaded with MotoGP-derived technologies such as carbon-carbon brakes and aerodynamics, plus WSBK-grade electronics, and a staggering amount of horsepower. We could think of worse things to spend your hard-earned money on, including retirement or your offspring’s education. It isn’t street-legal, but if you can afford one, then you can certainly afford the track time.
