Harley-Davidson’s iconic Super Glide is back. Debuting in 1971 with the new FX chassis and the period-perfect boat-tail rear fender, the Super Glide persisted into the Dyna era before ending its run in 2013 as the Super Glide Custom. The 2026 Harley-Davidson Super Glide is built on the latest Softail platform, making it the first single-shock Super Glide. The MSRP is $15,999.
The new patriotic red, white, and blue Super Glide is being positioned as a motorcycle celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. Production is limited to 2500 numbered examples. It will be available exclusively in the Chrome Trim, and only in White Onyx Pearl with paint and Bar and Shield graphics directly inspired by the first Super Glide.
The 2026 Super Glide gets the Milwaukee-Eight 117 Classic powerplant. The friendliest of the latest 117s, the Classic is tuned for ease of use, with the 120 lb-ft torque peak arriving at just 2500 rpm. At 4600 rpm, a peak of 98 hp is produced. The engine has three ride modes: Sport, Road, and Rain.
Chrome takes center stage in the styling exercise. In addition to the defiant chrome mini-ape handlebar, you’ll find the shiny stuff on the engine side cases, transmission cover, exhaust, wheel rims, side covers, round air cleaner cover, rear fender supports, headlight, belt-drive guard, and turn signals. Lighting is all-LED. While sunglasses are not included, they’re highly recommended.
The tubeless wheels connect the aluminum hubs and rims with wire spokes. Dunlop Harley-Davidson D401 tires are mounted on the 19-inch front and 16-inch rear wheels. A 300mm disc brake is mounted to the front hub, and a 292mm disc in the rear.
The chassis geometry is relaxed. The wheelbase is a generous 64.2 inches. Rake is kicked out 30 degrees, and the trail is a substantial 6.2 inches. The tires are narrow, with a 100/90 front and 150/80 rear.
The seat height is a road-hugging 26.2 inches. Fork travel is 5 inches, while the rear wheel swings across a 3.4-inch arc. The only suspension adjustment is the shock’s spring preload.
The Rider Safety Enhancements package is active on the 2026 Harley-Davidson Super Glide. ABS, traction control, and engine drag torque control are all standard and lean-sensitive. A tire pressure monitoring system is also installed on the stock Super Glide.
The console housing the round 5-inch dash is mounted on the 5-gallon fuel tank. It features an analog-style speedometer with an inset LCD featuring a scrollable readout controlled by a button on the left switchgear. There’s also a USB-C charging point near the front of the tank, something you didn’t see on the 1971 edition.
The 2026 Harley-Davidson Super Glide is only available in the United States and Canada. If someone wants to ride on the back, there are passenger accommodations, including a stylishly stepped seat.
