So often a conservative company, Honda does have a rebellious streak–and things don’t get much wilder than the hyper-expensive 2016 Honda RC213V-S.

Putting the price into the stratosphere is the fact that the bike is very much last year’s MotoGP bike brought to the street with as few changes as possible.

The most obvious change is the limiting of the rpm to 9400, which caps the horsepower and torque at levels that are actually below liter-bike standards. Regardless, find a way to buy a Race Kit (which won’t be imported into the US) and the 999cc engine will be restored power to the full 214 horsepower at 14,000 rpm.

Ultimate MotorCycling’s Arthur Coldwells rode the uncorked bike (as well as the European street version) and reports that it far exceeds all expectations for power and handling.
