2011 KTM/Husaberg Motorcycle Recalls

Motorcycle Recall

KTM, which owns Husaberg, is recalling certain model 2010 and 2011 motorcycles manufactured from November 2009 through Nov. 23, 2010, due to handlebar issues. The manufacturer says 1228 motorcycles are affected.

KTM says due to improper heat treatment, the handlebar clamps can develop cracks, allowing the handlbar to move from its set position. Unexpected movement of the handlebars may cause a motorcycle crash.

The following models are affected in the motorcycle recall:

  • 2011 Husaberg/ FE 570S
  • 2011 Husaberg / FS 570
  • 2011 KTM / 450 EXC
  • 2011 KTM / 530 EXC
  • 2010-2011 KTM / 690 ENDURO R

Authorized KTM dealers will replaced the defective clamps free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin during June 2011. Owners may contact KTM Customer Service at 1-888-985-6090.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or visit safercar.com.
