Cycle News announced Wednesday that Digital Throttle has been retained to work with Paul Carruthers to manage sales and advertising operations for Cycle News.
Motorcycle Aftermarket Group (MAG) acquired Cycle News in November 2010 and hired Paul Carruthers, the longtime Editor of Cycle News, to create a weekly digital magazine to compliment one of the leading motorcycle websites.
Sean Finley, the previous head of the Motorcycle Group at Source Interlink Media and current president of the Motorcycle Group for Digital Throttle, was retained to help create and launch the new Cycle News digital magazine.
With the successful launch of the digital magazine, both parties have agreed to expand the relationship, with Digital Throttle having exclusive responsibility for sales and advertising operations. Suzzie Russell Smith will continue her role as National Advertising Manager and report to Finley.
Brian Etter (President & CEO of Motorsports Aftermarket Group) says: "Sean has proven to be a great asset in helping to launch the new digital magazine and Digital Throttle’s business model is a great solution for advertisers looking to reach their targets via new digital media.
"This is a great partnership that will allow Paul and his editorial team focus on creating the great content that attracts enthusiasts to both the website and digital magazine while leveraging Digital Throttle’s digital experience, systems and extensive industry contacts."
Sean Finley says: "Cycle News already has one of the largest websites in the motorcycle market and the exploding popularity of Tablet computers/readers such as the iPad is changing how people consume news and follow their passions.
"The new digital magazine compliments the website with the best content organized and presented via a magazine format plus more in-depth stories. The digital delivery provides that information in a very timely manner, something that fans of Cycle News have appreciated for years. Advertisers and readers will be very pleased with the unique advertising formats offered through both the website and digital magazine."
