Spring Creek MX: Dungey Heads Home

AMA Motocross News

Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey is ready for Round 7 of the AMA Pro Motocross Series at the Spring Creek MX track in Millville, Minnesota.

Dungey is a Minnesota native and has raced Spring Creek plenty of times, but this Saturday will be a little different for the 20-year-old rookie.

He’s coming to Spring Creek after winning the last five races in a row and leading the 450 class. Not only that, but he’s also riding his way to becoming one of the most successful rookies in motocross.

To commemorate Dungey’s homecoming, the official sticker of the Spring Creek AMA Pro Motocross race has his image on it.

Dungey has won 8 motos so far in the 2010 AMA Pro Motocross series and has led 77 laps, almost twice as many as anyone else in the class. He’s currently 64 points ahead in the standings and is looking to add to that lead in front of his hometown crowd.

Ryan won at Spring Creek last year in the 250 class, and if he pulls off the overall this weekend, it will put him in an elite class of racers who’ve won in both classes at the tough track.

Ryan’s teammate Matt Moss is also looking forward to racing in Millville. The rookie from Australia is hoping to continue building momentum as the season progresses, and he’s steadily improved as he’s grown accustomed to racing in the U.S. Moss finished 14th overall last weekend and is focused on breaking into the top 10 in Minnesota.

The race will be shown on SPEED TV on Sunday, July 18th, at 5 p.m. EST.
