If plan on visiting Americada in northern New York this month, you’ll have an opportunity to demo plenty of new Honda models. American Honda provide demo rides for attendees of the Americade Rally, which begins June 6 and runs through June 11 in Lake George, New York. With a massive amount of entertainment for everyone, from trade shows, conventions to guided tours, this just adds a bit more fun while checking those legendary Adirondack Park roads. So what will be on the menu? Honda offer rides from its 2016 lineup, including the new VFR1200X and CRF1000L Africa Twin, as well as the Gold Wing, F6B, CB1100F, CBR1000RR, NC700X, CB500X, CBR300R and plenty more..
If you aren’t in the Lake George region, there will be two other opportunities for testing VFR1200X and Africa Twin during MotoAmerica’s Barber Motorsports Park and Laguna Seca Raceway rounds. Barber kicks off on June 10-12 in Birmingham, Ala., where Honda World Superbike pilot Nicky Hayden will be on hand as American Honda’s special guest, putting in laps on two vintage Honda race machines from the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum. Hayden will most likely be in good spirits, as he picked up a brilliant debut SBK win in Sepang a few weeks ago.At Laguna Seca, held July 8-10 in Monterey, Calif., Hayden will be on hand again, except he’ll be a bit preoccupied with riding in the World Superbike Series’ American round.“Honda has a long history of collaborating with Americade, and we’re pleased to give customers the opportunity to try our models on some of the best motorcycling roads in the Northeast,” said Mike Snyder, Senior Manager of Powersports Marketing at American Honda. “In addition, we’re excited to increase our level of participation at Barber and Laguna Seca, arguably the two crown jewels in the MotoAmerica series.”
Zero Electric ADV Bike + Al and Bridget from Throw Your Leg Over
byMotos and Friends by Ultimate Motorcycle
Hello everyone and welcome to Motos and Friends, a weekly Podcast brought to you by the editorial team at Ultimate Motorcycling. My name is Arthur Coldwells.
Electric mobility is everywhere nowadays. Whether it’s a car, a truck, an assisted bicycle, a scooter, or any number of new innovations, the electric revolution is certainly here. In this week’s first segment, Nic de Sena took a ride on Zero’s recently announced new Adventure bike—the Zero DSR-X. There’s been a lot of hype about this new arrival on the ADV scene, and of course the questions are many. Nic talks to me about whether Zero actually have a credible, alternative energy ADV bike—or if the machine is just simply an empty promise.
In our second segment, I chat with Al and Bridget from ‘Throw Your Leg Over’. They took time out to record this episode from somewhere in the middle of Romania, of all places.
These interesting Aussies have traveled—and painstakingly documented—the thousands of miles they’ve covered riding the best roads and sights through Australia, Tasmania, Europe, eastern Europe, and Scandinavia, among other places.
