The 2016 Legends and Heroes Supercross Moto Museum Tour, which is now in its seventh consecutive year with the Monster Energy Supercross Series, has returned to San Diego’s Petco Park. The series helps honor such MX legends as Jeff Matiasevich, two-time AMA Western Regional Supercross Champion and Japan Supercross Champion.

Many Southern California riders who happen to frequent the variety of tracks available may have put  down laps alongside  Matiasevich and been none the wiser. The former Team Green rider is still an avid motorcross rider in SoCal and gets out several times a week aboard his Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki.

Matiasevich’s career lasted more than a decade, which in the world of motocross is quite commendable. He moved up through the pro tanks in 1988 and immediately claimed back-to-back 125 western regional Supercross championships for Kawasaki in 1988 and 1989. In 1995 he was picked up by the illustrious Kawasaki factory team and contracted to race in the Japanese National Championship, where he picked up another title.

Jeff Matiasevich was also at the Legends and Heroes Moto Museum display this past Saturday afternoon at the Monster Energy Party in the Pits at SD 1 Supercross for a meet and greet with the fans. He was presented the coveted Legends and Heroes Award by six-time AMA champion Broc Glover on the Monster Energy Supercross podium Saturday evening/
