2015 Honda Gold Wing and F6B First Look
The 2015 Honda Gold Wing has been announced by American Honda, and it’s a 40th Anniversary Edition. All 2015 Honda Gold Wing motorcycles will sport a commemorative 40th Anniversary emblem.
“For 2015 we are proud to be celebrating 40 years of the Gold Wing,” Lee Edmunds, Manager of Motorcycle Marketing Communications for American Honda said. “This model means so much to our company and our customers. When this model was introduced in 1975, it revolutionized what touring in America could be. It was our customer’s passion for adventure and traveling the open road that really defined the Gold Wing and how it is used today.”
Available in October 2014, the 2015 Honda Gold Wing will be available in a new two-tone Candy Red and Black version, plus Light Silver Metallic (another new color) and Black. There will be for trim lines for the Gold Wing, with pricing starting at $23,999.
Additionally, the 2015 Honda Gold Wing F6B has been announced. This year, the F6B gets cruise control, as well as a new black exhaust. As before, the F6B has a shorter windscreen than the Gold Wing, and narrower bodywork. The 2015 Honda F6B will be available in two new colors — Matte Silver, and Blue Metallic. The price has not yet been announced.
What a let down. Goldwingers have been waiting for years for a new design that will bring it into the 21st century. Same old tired design with all its shortcomings, overweight, underpowered, undersprung, and overpriced.
I agree with the outdated design observation. I have a 2005, that is the 30th Anniversary edition, and not much different than the 40th Anniversary Edition. Sad. But, overweight and underpowered? Wrong! That thing is like a 2 seater rocket, I love to drive it and crack the throttle and hang on……..put it in high gear, overdrive and leave it there, no matter the circumstance. It has an all aluminum frame, and plastic everything; where do you propose they cut weight? I also own a 2011 HD Ultra Classic Limited with a 103 cu in engine., now that is under powered. I figure, if you are making the best motorcycle in the world, and have for decades, why mess with it? After all, they could do something like the did with the Vulkerie or the Rune. Ruin a good thing, or create something nobody wanted, needed, or asked for. They could do worse, if they aren’t careful, they have proven that.
What is this narrower bodywork on the F6B?
