Nine-time World Champion Valentino Rossi can read a tire better than most.

And his expertise at MotoGP circuits around the world has helped Bridgestone – the MotoGP spec-tire manufacturer – develop its street tires.

The latest is the Battlax Hypersport S20 EVO, the successor to the award-winning S20 sportbike tire.

Rossi talks about his involvement: “When pushing to the limit you learn a lot about everything. Yourself. The bike. The tire. Sharing my experience, feelings and knowledge from the racetrack is important to those around me, it keeps the technology evolving.”

Rossi’s assistance allowed Bridgestone to produce a tire “that improves upon the class-leading performance and safety of the S20, with the added bonus of greater durability and stability.”

And once the product was complete, Rossi put them through a true street test aboard a Yamaha YZF-R1. The video above highlights the Rossi/S20 EVO street test.
