BMW Motorrad USA January Sales Report

BMW Motorrad USA shows no signs of slowing sales of motorcycle and maxi scooters. The Bavarian manufacturer reports that US sales jumped 11 percent in February compared to the same month of 2013.

BMW Motorrad USA says during February 2014, 935 motorcycles and maxi scooters were sold. BMW attributes much of the success to the new R 1200 RT, which features the semi-water cooled boxer engine, and the R 1200 GS Adventure.

Year to date, BMW Motorrad USA sales are up 6 percent to 1,526 units compared to 1,439 units in the first two months of 2013.

The news arrived following BMW Motorrad’s record-breaking worldwide year of sales; in 2013, BMW sold over 115,000 motorcycles and maxi scooters, which was up 12.9 percent over 2012.

And things are only expected to get better for March when BMW Motorrad dealers will begin offering two additional models – the R nineT and the K 1600 GTL Exclusive. BMW will also enter the world of electromobility with its new BMW C evolution.
