Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto earned his fourth victory of 2013 Monster Energy Supercross Saturday evening at Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis.
But it wasn’t an easy win for Villopoto. The Kawasaki KX-F 450 rider had to work his way into the lead after starting the restarted race in sixth place. But by lap 11, Villopoto worked his way into the lead, eventually taking the chekcered flag by 3.3 seconds ahead of Yoshimura Suzuki’s James Stewart and TwoTwo Motorsports Honda’s Chad Reed.
With his win, Villopoto has shrunk his deficit from 22 points to 12 behind leader Rockstar Energy Suzui’s Davi Millsaps (after nine of 17 rounds).
Attached above is POV video of Villopoto during practice for St. Louis Supercross. The 2013 SX season continues this weekend with Daytona Supercross by Honda; last year Villopoto finished fifth at Daytona behind winner Stewart.
