2012 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

The Sturgis Buffalo Chip is pleased to welcome the funky sounds of WAR to Friday Fest on August 3, during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Friday Fest at the Buffalo Chip is an all day music experience that will kick off nine days of action packed activities and music. WAR, with their unmistakable blend of rock, funk, and soul brings an energetic stage show with them as they headline a full day of music that begins at 2 p.m. on August 3 with a Kill the Keg Party and a 2 for 1 Extravaganza on many activities that day, including 2 for 1 Zip Line rides, 2 for 1 Fan VIP Upgrades, 2 for 1 Top Shelf Lounge access, and more.

Be part of all the fun on Friday Fest at the Buffalo Chip with great food, activities, cold drinks, entertainment, music and more, all at The Best Party Anywhere at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. Get your passes for Friday Fest, as well as other concerts at the Buffalo Chip’s annual Sturgis Concert Series, that include Eric Church, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Slash, featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Journey, BOSTON, Zac Brown Band, Sugarland, Sublime with Rome, Candlebox, Buckcherry, Saving Abel, Loverboy, Shinedown, Adelitas Way and more at BuffaloChip.com.

WAR is known not just as a band, but as a movement. Formed in the turbulent late 1960’s, WAR skyrocketed to world wide acclaim by the early 1970’s. To date, WAR has sold nearly 50 million records and has been honored with 17 gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards. With mega hits such as “Low Rider,” “Cisco Kid,” “Me and Baby Brother” and “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” to name a few, WAR has grown to be part of American pop culture with their music featured in countless TV shows and commercials as well as Hollywood movies.

Be part of the movement that is WAR and share their celebration of music in an exciting party atmosphere at the Buffalo Chip.

Daymon Wooruff (Buffalo Chip) says: “There are more unique bands, dance troupes and fire dancers on the main stage then we’ve ever had in one night at the Buffalo Chip before. WAR capping the night off will make for an incredible opening day kick off that would funk the funk off of moldy cheese.”

Friday Fest was conceived by the Buffalo Chip as a major statement to kick-start the Sturgis rally. Chip campers and Festival goers can get things started with a cool dip in the water at Bikini Beach, famous for its fun times and drink specials, can help kill the kegs at 2 p.m. for some free beer until the kegs run dry, can take a ride on the Zip Line during the concerts, see stunt bike shows, take part in midget bowling or get some new ink at the Tattoo Café.

Festival goers can then kick back and enjoy music all day long, starting a 2 p.m. on the Buffalo Chip’s main stage from a long list of great showcase bands from across the country, including rockabilly from Mad Dog and the Smokin’ J’s and The Living Deads, rock from ColdSweat and Iron Cowgirl, outlaw country from Tumbleweed Junction, blues from Charlie Brechtel, bluegrass from That Damn Sasquatch, sexy dance from Fire Dancers and Rhythm Rockers, and much more. Top it all off with an amazing headlining show from WAR and you have Friday Fest at the Buffalo Chip.

The Legendary Sturgis Buffalo Chip has been offering campers free world class concerts and rally goers the Authentic Sturgis Experience for more than 30 years. The best music and a premier 580 acre camping resort makes the Buffalo Chip® the must attend destination of Sturgis.
