2012 Ducati Streetfighter 848
There’s a new naked middleweight about to surface on the streets in 2012 – the Ducati Streetfighter 848.
And just because it’s a mid-weight, doesn’t mean it’s slouch; the Streetfighter gets the same motor available in the 848 EVO Sportbike, but tuned for that mid-range aggression needed on real-world streets.
The 11-degree, L-Twin Desmo pushes 134 horsepower at 10,000 rpms, and features a savvy Marelli electronic fuel injection with elliptical throttle bodies.
And just as the motor is filled with utmost performance, Ducati didn’t skimp regarding suspension, neither. The Streetfighter 848’s chassis features a steel Trellis frame, 43mm Marzocchi 43mm fully adjustable forks and a fully adjustable Sachs monoshock, all rolling on 10-spoke alloy wheels and Pirelli Diablo Corsa tires.
That aggressive naked styling is there, also, the 439-pound bike featuring minimal body panels and a headlight like no other.
The 2012 Ducati Streetfighter 848 is available in traditional Red, Dark Stealth and Fighter Yellow, with an MSRP of $12,995.
