Dunlop has been selected by KTM Sportmotorcycle AG as an OEM tire supplier for key motocross and off-road motorcycles sold in North America.
Dunlop will supply Geomax MX51 tires to KTM for fitment on its line of motocross models – the 250 SX-F, 350 SX-F and 450 SX-F – as well as its off-road models, including the 150 XC, 250 XC, 300 XC, 250 XC-F and 350 XC-F; plus the XC-W models: 200 XC-W, 250 XC-W, 300 XC-W, 250 XCF-W, 350 XCF-W, 450 XC-W and 500 XC-W.
The Geomax MX51 is positioned as the intermediate-terrain tire in the premium Geomax family of tires that comprises four choices to match specific terrain conditions, and over the past two years the Geomax line has grown to become a favorite among professional racers in AMA Supercross and Motocross competition.
Mike Buckley (Vice President, Dunlop) says: “We are especially pleased that KTM has entered into this new working relationship with Dunlop. KTM motorcycles carry an outstanding reputation for performance and we are confident that our Geomax MX51 tires will complement that performance envelope right off the showroom floor to bring even greater satisfaction to KTM riders.”
Jon-Erik Burleson (KTM North America President) says: “As KTM continues to focus on the development of our core motocross and off-road bikes in North America, Dunlop was the perfect choice of tires to match the performance of the motorcycle and meet the expectations of the North American consumer. We hope this is the first step in a long relationship with Dunlop.”
