World Motorcycle Endurance Racing
The team that won the first race in the 2011 World Endurance Championship at Bol d’Or, the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team (SERT), has placed the GSX-R1000 on the pole position for Saturday evening’s 8 Hours of Albacete in Spain.
The position was set after SERT team rider Vincent Philippe set a time of 1:30.409 in Saturday morning’s second and final qualifying sessions.
SERT says Fourth in yesterday’s opening Qualifying, Philippe was fastest in his Q2 session and, coupled to team riders’ Freddy Foray’s second place in his session (1:31.534) and Daisaku Sakai’s win (1:31.212), the reigning World Champions took the overall by just 0.02-of-a-second ahead of BMW Motorrad France 99 and Monster Yamaha – YART.
