2011 Motorcycle ‘Industry Leader of the Year’

Motorcycle Industry News

The annual V-Twin Motorcycle Expo, recently held in Cincinnati, Ohio, is the largest Harley-Davidson related motorcycle dealer trade show of the year.

The motorcycle "Industry Leader of the Year" award is given to the person at the company that shows an unequaled vision, strategy and a dynamic business sense during the past year.

Orange County executive, Mark Finnie, President of Performance Machine, was recently named the "2011 Industry Leader of the Year" during the Excellence in Motorcycling Awards ceremony held at the V-Twin Expo. Finnie will tell you it is a team effort that wins awards and gives credit to his employees.

Finnie has a degree in engineering and was hired to lead Performance Machine nearly three years ago. Finnie accepted the PM presidency during a motorcycle economic downturn, which may have intimidated some, but not Mark…he was up for the challenge.

Mark set his sights on new business development and successfully launched the first forged wheel program for the trike (3-wheeled motorcycle) market and is currently ready to launch a new forged wheel program for the off-road truck and Jeep markets. This will be the first venture for Performance Machine outside the motorcycle market.

Mark Finnie says: "Diversifying our interests ensures that we can continue to grow while the economy takes its toll on the motorcycle market as well as other markets."

Performance Machine, a world-leading manufacturer of forged wheels, brakes, controls and accessories just celebrated its 40th anniversary and currently operates out of a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility complete with testing lab in the city of La Palma.

Mark Finnie says: "At Performance Machine motorcycle parts are our passion. We have a new philosophy at PM and that’s to do what we do best…manufacture forged wheels, brakes and related accessories and form alliances with other industry leading companies, both within the motorcycle market as well as the automotive market."

Performance Machine continues to set standards in the motorcycle industry with everything from design, testing, manufacturing and secondary operations performed in-house in order to maintain superior quality, all under the careful supervision of their President, Mark Finnie. PM products are pieces of art that help riders create a one-of-a kind ride. All PM products are designed to help riders create a cohesive, custom look with timeless beauty that lasts forever…That’s why world-class bike builders have been using PM products for years!
