Davi Millsaps does Supercross San Diego

Honda Red Bull Racing’s Davi Millsaps was back on top at Round Five (5) of the 2010 AMA Supercross series at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California on Saturday, February 6, winning aboard his Honda CRF450R.

In wet, slippery racing conditions, Millsaps dominated the Supercross competition-rounding.  Out of the opening lap in Davi Millsaps jumped into second spot. Millsaps rode steady and moved up to take the lead on lap three. Once out front the Honda racer never looked back for the remainng 17 of 20 total laps, clinching his first race win of the 2010 season.

"I’m so happy right now," said Millsaps. "I felt good coming into this event and did my best to be as prepared as possible for whatever the wet San Diego race threw at me. I’m really happy to put Honda Red Bull Racing on the podium two weeks in a row and there is no better way to do it than with a win."

Teammate Andrew Short was in second spot and hot on the trail of Millsaps when misfortune struck in the closing laps. The Honda racer crashed hard when he came up short on a triple and required trackside medical attention. Doctors later released Short from the medical center and he will undergo further injury evaluations early in the week. Fellow Honda racer GEICO Powersports Honda’s Kevin Windham was in fifth and closing on the riders in front of him when he was sidelined on lap 18.
