At this year’s "Monsters of Motocross Presented by Lucas Oil", event master of ceremonies and 7-Time National Champion Bob "Hurricane" Hannah announced his support of the "Magoo Van Fund $100,000 Challenge" by presenting the 1982 500cc World Champion, "Bad Brad" Lackey with the first $5,000 donation. This check will be the first of (20) slots the Hurricane and Brad will fill on a weekly updated ad that is being generously donated by Cycle News.

The campaign is simple: Bob Hannah is challenging those current and retired pro riders, industry executives, and other capable individuals to commit at least $5,000 towards Brad Lackey’s exhaustive efforts to build and purchase a new special needs van for motocross legend Danny "Magoo" Chandler. Those who commit will have their names added alongside Bob and others in the weekly Cycle News ad until all (20) slots are filled and the $100,000 goal is attained.

Since the challenge was announced on Saturday night, nine (9) positions have already been filled, including: Terri & Bob Hannah, Terry Knott, Bob Fox, Bruce Lockwood, Glen Helen Raceway Park, Cheryl & Mark Barnett, Linda & Jimmy Weinert, and Pipeline Digital Media.

"We applaud Bob’s challenge along with all the other generous donations, auctions and support," said Brad Lackey, America’s First Motocross World Champion. "We’ll get Danny his new ride sooner than later so he can continue his work with kids and schools on motorcycle safety. It will be great also for his fans to see him at more of the races," Lackey added.

"This is only happening because Brad Lackey is making it happen," explained Bob Hannah at the Monsters of Motocross event in front of 450+ people. "I’m only asking those that can afford to do this, to step up and help take care of one of our own. Let’s get this van for Magoo finished," Hannah concluded.

All the donations for this challenge campaign are tax deductible with 501(c)(3) status.
