2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro Buyer’s Guide [Specs, Price]

The 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro is the least expensive and most road-focused of the four Tiger 1200 models. It rides on cast-aluminum wheels, a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear, and carries a 5.3-gallon tank. At 551 pounds, it’s also the lightest Tiger 1200.

Least expensive doesn’t mean stripped. Bosch front and rear radar is standard, running adaptive cruise control, Forward Collision Warning, Emergency Brake Assist, Group Ride Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and Rear Distance Warning. A 7-inch Bosch touchscreen brings wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a waterproof, fan-cooled phone compartment with USB-C charging is built into the top of the tank. Heated rider and passenger seats, previously an accessory on the GT Pro, are now standard, along with three-stage heated grips.

The Showa Heightflex semi-active suspension has 7.9 inches of travel at both ends, sets its own preload, and offers Firm, Medium, and Soft damping settings on a dedicated button. As the bike comes to a stop, it lowers the seat 1.2 inches, then restores ride height after pulling away. With the low seat in its lower position, seat height is just over 31 inches at a stop.

Triumph rates the 1160cc T-plane triple at 156 horsepower and 96 lb-ft of torque. Revised gearing lowers the crawl speed for tight turns and slow traffic, and the 6-speed gearbox has a quickshifter and shaft final drive. Seven riding modes are standard: Sport, Road, Eco, Rain, Off-road, and two configurable Rider modes, all with cornering-sensitive ABS and traction control. Brembo Stylema calipers grip the front discs.

The GT Pro is $1000 less than the Rally Pro and $2000 less than the GT Explorer, and it gives up none of the new technology. What it gives up is range. At Triumph’s estimate of 40 mpg, the tank is good for about 210 miles, and the Explorer’s 7.9 gallons, tire-pressure monitoring, and taller, wider handlebar are the reasons to step up.
