Wiley X Eyewear reveals battlefield-proven lenses

Motorcyclists know that their eyes are the ‘first line of defense’ against hazards, and protecting them at high speeds is critical – with dust, debris, insects and glare just a few of the potential issues riders can encounter. That’s why Wiley X Eyewear has introduced a new eyewear system that combines the company’s battlefield-proven ballistic protection with advanced light adjusting lenses designed to rapidly respond to changes in light conditions. With the new Wiley X XL-1 Advanced, motorcycle enthusiasts can hit the road with less concern about the road hitting them back – confident that their eyes are protected and vision will stay clear under changing conditions.

Wiley X has been producing high performance, ballistic photo chromic eyewear for years, and the new Wiley X XL-1 comes with new advanced Light Adjusting lenses, designed to lighten or darken 33-percent faster than the competition. This rapid photo chromic response gives riders the visual edge they need to safely navigate on highways, the back roads or wherever the road takes them. These advanced 8-base Selenite polycarbonate lenses provide 100-percent UVA/UVB protection and distortion free clarity. Plus, they boast Wiley X’s T-Shell and Foil lens coatings for anti-scratch and anti-fog protection in extreme environments. In addition to Light Adjusting lenses, the Wiley X XL-1 is offered with changeable smoke and clear lenses.

The incredible protection goes beyond the rugged lenses – this unique system features new Rx-ready, matte black frames that exceed U.S. ballistic impact standards Mil-PRF-31013 VO and the stringent ANSI Z87.1-2003 High Velocity Impact safety and optical standards.

The design of Wiley X’s innovative new XL-1 Advanced features double-injected temples that grip the head for a secure, yet comfortable fit, along with an Ultra Foam gasket than can be worn to create a protective seal around the eyes or removed to expose a traditional sunglass. No other product in this class offers this combination of protection and versatility – so it can keep up with you in a wide range of conditions when its time to roll on the throttle.
