    Pre-entry approaches for AMA Racing Vintage Grand Championships

    The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) reminds vintage racers that time is running out to pre-enter for this year’s biggest vintage racing weekend: the AMA Racing Vintage Grand Championships, held in conjunction with AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, and the Ashland County Fairgrounds in Ashland this July 24-26.

    The AMA Racing Vintage Grand Championships will crown AMA Racing national champions in vintage motocross, road racing, dirt track, hare scrambles and trials.

    AMA announces teams for 2009 International Six Days Enduro

    The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is pleased to announce the rosters for the U.S. Women’s Trophy Team, the U.S. Junior Trophy Team and the members of the U.S. club teams that will carry the banner for American off-road racing honor at the 2009 International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in Figueria da Foz, Portugal, Oct. 12-17.

    In addition, Timmy Weigand will replace the injured Nathan Woods on the U.S. World Trophy Team, which will contest the World Trophy Team Championship. Woods was injured while competing in Round 6 of the World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS).

    AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame announces first class of 2009

    The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is pleased to announce the first member of the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Class of 2009, each of whom will be revealed in random order over the next few weeks. Among the honorees who will take to the stage at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas this Dec. 5 will be seven-time AMA National Enduro Champion Randy Hawkins.

    "In the world of off-road racing, one of the toughest sports on the planet, there are few who can match the stellar accomplishments of Randy Hawkins," said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman.
