Kawasaki Recalls 2009 / 2010 Ninja 650 R

Ninja 650R Recall

Kawasaki is recalling 676 Ninja 650 R motorcycles due to linkage/pedal issues.

On certain model 2009 EX650 C9F/Fl and certain 2010 EX650 CAF/FL Ninja 650 motorcycles, the right rear portion of the lower cowling can interfere with the operator’s foot while in the process of applying the rear brake.

If this happens, the rider can be distracted, and possibly crash.

Dealers will install an updated footrest guard and fairing bracket free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin on or before July 19, 2010.

Owners may contact Kawasaki consumer serives department at 1-866-802-9381. nd/or contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
