Kawasaki is re-entering the world of two-stroke motocross bikes for adults with the new 2027 KX327. Rather than a rehash of the last Kawasaki two-stroke MXer, the KX327 is all-new and packed with modern features. The $9099 MSRP for the 2027 Kawasaki KX327 is approachable, so let’s see what you get for that list price.
- The 2027 Kawasaki KX327 is powered by an all-new fuel-injected 327cc two-stroke engine. It is Kawasaki’s first newly designed two-stroke larger than 250cc in more than 20 years, and its first-ever two-stroke with electric starting. Fueling is via EFI, though premix is still required. The engine also has a powervalve to improve output across the rev range.
- Two power modes allow the rider to adjust the motor’s performance to taste and conditions. Additional technology involves Rideology The App KX2, which connects a smartphone to the KX327. The app gives an owner “access to vehicle settings, riding logs, and maintenance information,” according to Kawasaki.
- The 2027 Kawasaki KX327 is purpose-built for motocross, with the KX327X catering to off-road riders and racers. The KX327 has a close-ratio five-speed transmission with a hydraulically actuated clutch. A 19-inch rear wheel allows for a more exacting low-profile Dunlop Geomax MX34 tire.
- The frame comes from Kawasaki’s KX450F motocross bike. It is a slim aluminum perimeter frame built from forged, extruded, and cast pieces. The KX327 has a claimed “weight” of 233.7 pounds. We’re confident that’s not a wet weight, but we don’t know how dry it is.
- KYB handles the suspension at both ends of the 2027 Kawasaki KX327. Up front is an inverted 48mm AOS coil-spring fork. Out back, the shock is linkage-assisted. Both units are fully adjustable.
- Nissin calipers supply the braking. The KX327 runs a 270mm petal disc up front and a 240mm petal disc at the rear.
- The KX327’s ergonomics are adjustable. The handlebar can be set in four positions, and the footpegs in two. ODI Lock-On grips come standard and twist on and off with a screw, making grip changes quick. Slim bodywork lets the rider move freely while cornering or standing.
- The $9099 price is aggressively competitive in the two-stroke MX world. It is lower than the list prices of the 2027 Beta 250 RX ($9690), 2027 KTM 300 SX ($9899), and the 2027 Beta 350 RX ($10,290).
- The 2027 Kawasaki KX327 hits dealerships late in 2026. Lime Green plastic is standard. We look forward to more detailed specifications soon.
