RiderMarket of Orlando emerged as the winner in the Royal Enfield Build.Train.Race Build-Off (Road Race) competition. Starting with a Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, the RiderMarket entry is a nicely balanced blend of retro style and modern performance.
Owner Nate Stickney of the Florida dealership wanted to create a machine that kept the GT 650’s classic character while equipping it with contemporary components. RiderMarket Parts Director Brian Koster, a seasoned bike builder, led the project from concept to completion. The result is a striking track-capable machine that feels both timeless and razor-sharp.
The traditional front end was completely re-engineered to accept a Showa inverted 43mm fork, complete with new fairing brackets that retain the bike’s handling dynamics and wind protection. The structural reinforcements blend the old-school look with a slimmer, more modern appearance. At the rear, fully adjustable RacingBros piggyback-reservoir shocks provide tunability and the firmer, more controlled ride needed for aggressive cornering and smooth transitions on track.
Vortex Offset 7 Degree clip-ons give a somewhat aggressive yet comfortable riding position. A Brembo radially actuated master cylinder provides much better braking performance and more feel at the lever. Koster ditched the stock cable clutch in favor of a Magura Hymec hydraulic clutch system that uses a Magura slave cylinder and Brembo master cylinder for crisper, more linear engagement.
The bike rolls on a fresh set of 17-inch wheels laced by Dubya USA and shod with Shinko racing slicks. Custom billet Messner Moto rearsets replace the stock foot controls, improving the ergonomics with the clip-ons for a clean, purposeful stance.
An Akrapovič slip-on muffler delivers increased airflow and a signature sound that matches the bike’s race-ready intent.
Subtle carbon-fiber touches, including RLZ Carbon throttle-body covers, save weight and add an elegant modern accent to the retro lines.
The racing stripes across the front reflect the identity and color palette of the RiderMarket dealership, with cool logos across the fairing, as well as on the rear and sides of the gas tank. The RiderMarket logo emblazoned across the back of the seat hump is another nice touch. The #712 on the GT650’s number plates was Koster’s racing number from back in the day, making it feel even more personal.
The crowning glory, tying it all together, is the stellar Hittn’ Skins wrap on the tank. “A huge thank you to Frank and the crew at Hittn’ Skins for the incredible artwork and graphics work on this build,” Koster acknowledges. “The attention to detail and creativity completely brought the bike to life and gave it its own identity.”
RiderMarket’s winning machine is a clean, well-put-together modern motorcycle with the traditional looks of race bikes from the 1960s. Sponsors for the build include RiderMarket, Western Powersports, Hittn’ Skins, and Velvet Crown Tattoo Shop in Bradenton, Florida.
