SX Injury Update: Austin Stroupe is Out

SX Lites Report

Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Austin Stroupe is recovering from an incident involving another rider who came up short on a jump during practice in Houston, resulting in an injured shoulder and a trip to the Asterisk Mobile Medical unit for Austin.

Stroupe is currently recovering at home and will not be competing in this weekend’s final round of the Eastern Regional Lites series, where he’s currently second in points.

Stroupe suffered a third-degree separated shoulder in the practice crash, causing him to sit out the main event in Houston last week. After checking in with his physician in North Carolina, Stroupe will be out for the rest of the Supercross season.

In three weeks, Stroupe will be evaluated again to determine his return to racing. "Thankfully it did not require surgery," Team Manager Roger DeCoster said. "We want Austin to heal up and be healthy when he returns to racing."
