CFMoto has been climbing the displacement ladder for years, and the 2027 Ibex 950 is the biggest step yet. It is an all-new adventure bike built around a 946cc parallel twin producing 112 horsepower and boasting a component list that reads like a bike costing several thousand dollars more: KYB, Brembo, Pirelli, and Bosch. Priced at $12,499 MSRP, the 2027 CFMoto Ibex 950 will be available in Tactical Green and Nebula Black. Here’s what else you need to know:

2027 CFMoto Ibex 950 Adventure Bike First Look: 3/4 left side view in black

  1. The Ibex 950 makes 112 horsepower at 8500 rpm and 78 lb-ft of torque at 6250 rpm. That comes from a liquid-cooled 946cc DOHC parallel twin fed by Bosch EFI through a pair of 46mm throttle bodies. The 92.5mm bore and 70.4mm stroke makes it securely oversquare. CFMoto says the torque curve is broad rather than peaky, with the strongest output through the midrange. On paper, that puts the Ibex in the same power neighborhood as the middleweight adventure bikes that dominate the segment, and above most of them on torque.

2027 CFMoto Ibex 950 Adventure Bike First Look: TFT Dash

  1. The electronics package is impressive. An 8-inch vertical TFT touchscreen handles display and settings. Ride-by-wire throttle enables multiple ride modes. Also standard are cruise control, a quickshifter, tire pressure monitoring, stability control, and USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports.

2027 CFMoto Ibex 950 Adventure Bike First Look: KYB fork

  1. Fully adjustable KYB suspension at both ends regulates 9.1 inches of wheel travel. The fork is a 48mm inverted unit, and the rear runs a single KYB shock. The shock is cantilevered and linkage-free.

  1. The 21-/18-inch wheelset makes the 2027 CFMoto Ibex 950 ready for off-road riding. Do-it-all Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires are standard, with a 90/90 front and 150/70 rear. Buyers can choose a more dirt-oriented rubber selection or something more street-friendly, depending on intended use.

  1. Seat height is 34.3 inches. That is consistent with the suspension travel and the wheelset; you do not get nine inches of travel and a big front hoop without the seat ending up high. CFMoto claims the bike is narrow at the seat, which will mitigate the seat height.

2027 CFMoto Ibex 950 Adventure Bike First Look: Brembo caliper and 21-inch front wheel and Pirelli adventure tire

  1. Brembo supplies the brakes, and they are not entry-level parts. The front runs 320mm floating discs squeezed by radial-mount M4.32 four-piston calipers. The rear is a single 260mm disc with a P2.34 single-piston floating caliper. Bosch supplies dual-channel cornering ABS and traction control.
  1. A 22-click adjustable steering damper is standard. The 22-position range lets riders run it loose on pavement and tighten it off-road to reduce front-wheel deflection.

  1. Curb weight is 489 pounds with the 5.9-gallon fuel tank filled. The tank capacity is generous, so it should be good for long rides between stops. CFMoto says the fuel sits low in the chassis, which should make it feel lighter on the trail. The frame is tubular steel with an aluminum swingarm, and the wheelbase is 60.2 inches. Rake and trail numbers are not available.

2027 CFMoto Ibex 950 with accessories, including side cases and a larger skid plate

  1. Touring equipment is standard. The Ibex 950 comes with heated grips, a heated seat, integrated hand guards, and an adjustable windscreen. All lighting is LED, including fog lights, headlights, taillights, and turn signals. A full-coverage skid plate is also fitted from the factory. Optional side cases and other accessories are shown in action photos.

  1. At $12,499, the 2027 CFMoto Ibex 950’s price undercuts every 21-inch-front adventure bike that comes close to its engine size. Aprilia’s Tuareg 660 matches the Ibex to the dollar at $12,499, but it is powered by a 659cc twin. Higher-priced spreads with smaller displacements include the Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid ($12,999), Suzuki V-Strom 800DE Adventure ($13,249), BMW F 900 GS ($14,395), KTM 890 Adventure R ($16,299), Ducati DesertX ($16,995), and Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro ($17,595).
  1. CFMoto built the successful Ibex 450 first, moved up to an 800, and now graduated to a 950. The 2027 Ibex 950 features name-brand components, a genuine off-road wheelset, and a standard equipment list that looks like an options menu. We don’t have an availability date yet.
