Dunlop Geomax EN92 First Look: Enduro Tire Gets a Soft Option

Dunlop has introduced the Geomax EN92, an FIM-approved enduro competition tire that replaces the Geomax EN91. It also functions as a DOT-legal dual-sport tire. The big technical change is a second compound. Alongside the medium-compound standard version, Dunlop now offers an EN92 Soft aimed at wet, rocky, and root-covered ground. Dunlop has not announced US sizing, pricing, or an on-sale date.

Dunlop Geomax EN92: Sizes

The EN91 was well liked, so the EN92 is an evolution rather than a clean-sheet design. Dunlop’s goal was range of use. The standard EN92 is meant for dry, grassy, flat, and hard dirt surfaces, which are the bread and butter of most enduro events. The Soft picks up where that leaves off, in the slick, technical terrain that defines hard enduro.

Dunlop Geomax EN92: New Tread Patterns Front and Rear

The front tire uses a staggered knob layout with less rubber in the center of the tread and more open space between the blocks. Larger gaps help each knob bite into hard, rocky ground rather than skate across it. Dunlop says the arrangement also cuts rebound.

Dunlop’s Progressive Cornering Block Technology Advanced (PCBT Advanced) handles cornering grip. The blocks are built to flex progressively as the bike leans, so the tire’s edge engages the dirt gradually rather than all at once.

At the rear, V-Block Technology arranges the knobs in a V pattern. Dunlop says the layout adds traction and improves control when the tire breaks loose. Reinforced Scoop Technology stiffens the leading edge of the rear blocks, so they dig into soft ground under power rather than fold over.

Rounder Sidewalls

Both tires get a more rounded sidewall profile than the EN91. A rounder carcass flexes more over square-edged hits, which takes some of the sting out of rocks and roots and cuts arm fatigue on long rides. It also gives the Dunlop Geomax EN92’s contact patch a more consistent shape as the bike leans, which is where the improved predictability comes from.

Dunlop Geomax EN92: Dual Sport Tire

“The Geomax EN92 is a direct evolution of everything we learned with the EN91, but with a clear focus on expanding performance across a broader range of conditions,” said Dunlop Director of Motorcycle Marketing & Motorsports Chad Geer. “From technical hard enduro terrain to faster, flowing enduro conditions, the EN92 gives riders improved traction, better compliance, and a more predictable feel, which ultimately builds confidence in the toughest environments.”

Dunlop developed the EN92 in international competition, including the FIM International Six Days Enduro. The tire made its public debut at the 99th ISDE in Bergamo, Italy, in 2025.

Sizes

Dunlop’s US announcement does not list sizes, but we can tell you what is offered to European buyers. They get the 90/90-21 and 140/80-18 in medium and soft compounds, with the 120/90-18 a medium-only tire.
