The Cardo Beyond GTS is the first helmet from the intercom communications juggernaut. As you might expect, Cardo Systems has packed it with a broad range of features, ranging from tech to safety to comfort. It won’t be available until Summer 2026, so you have plenty of time to digest what this premium helmet is all about.
- The Cardo Beyond GTS helmet integrates a sophisticated electronics system. It starts with Cardo Dynamic Mesh Communication software, which makes it easy to connect with other Cardo mesh units and create groups. Cardo puts a pair of new 53mm speakers in the helmet to work with the company’s new active noise cancellation system. Cardo claims these are the first 53mm helmet speakers, and they have been tuned by Cardo Sound Labs.
- Many of the features in the Cardo Beyond GTS helmet are carried over from the Cardo Packtalk Pro flagship intercom. You get crash detection technology, automatic on/off to extend battery life, audio GPS navigation, voice control, music streaming, smartphone pairing via Bluetooth, and a 1.6-mile mesh intercom connection range. An assigned physical button allows the rider to quickly access a preferred feature.
- The helmet has a new capability—a helmet health indicator. This provides continuous monitoring of the helmet’s condition to assure you it is safe to wear.
- The electronics are replaceable and upgradable. Although integrated into the Beyond GTS’s design, the units can be replaced due to damage or failure and upgraded when new technology becomes available.
- The battery is removable. This allows for wireless recharging, and replacement when its service life is over.
- An active brake light is integrated into the back of the helmet. When slowing down quickly, the light comes on to alert drivers and riders behind you. This feature is especially useful when decelerating using downshifting and engine braking, as that technique does not trigger the motorcycle’s brake light.
- The shell of the Cardo Beyond GTS is carbon fiber. Inside, there’s a multi-density EPS liner.
- Cardo designed the helmet to smoothly flow air around and through it. The aerodynamics were developed with the help of a wind tunnel, while vents move air strategically through the helmet for comfort.
- Several features make it easier for a rider to see. Cardo claims a “wide field of view,” and the Beyond GTS has an integrated sunshield and a new high-performance Pinlock 200 anti-fog lens.
- The Cardo Beyond GTS helmet meets DOT standards and is ECE 22.06 certified.
- Here’s what Cardo CEO Alon Lumbroso has to say about the Beyond GTS: “After 20 years at the forefront of rider communication, this is, without a doubt, a breakthrough moment for Cardo Systems. We’ve always believed technology should enhance the ride without distracting from it, and that’s exactly what we’ve achieved with this helmet. It’s not just about adding features. It’s about integrating them in a way that is seamless and feels natural, intuitive, and purpose-built for motorcyclists.”
- The Cardo Beyond GTS has a list price of $1199. The compares to the Packtalk Pro intercom unit with 45mm JBL speakers, which has an MSRP of $500 and requires the purchase of a helmet.
