The 2024 Kawasaki Z650RS retro-styled sportbike gets traction control this year. As we have seen previously on other Kawasaki 650 twins, the Z650RS’s traction control is adjustable. Two levels of TC are available—Mode 1 for standard riding and Mode 2 for low traction conditions. If you don’t want this assistance, Kawasaki lets you shut it off completely.
Returning on the Z650RS is the versatile liquid-cooled, DOHC, twin-cylinder powerplant used in sportbike, adventure bike, and cruiser applications. It has a six-speed transmission with an assist-and-slip clutch.
Although the RS has a retro theme, it uses standard 17-inch wheels, making it easy to select the rubber of your choice when the stock Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tires wear out. Braking is handled by a pair of 300mm discs in the front and a 220mm disc at the rear, with Nissin calipers all around. Bosch 9.1M ABS is standard.
