After a 90-minute delay due to a thunderstorm cell passing over MetLife Stadium, Justin Barcia took his first Main Event win of the year. Heavy rainfall turned the track into a quagmire for the shortened 17-minute Main Event. Eli Tomac took the runner-up spot, with Ken Roczen rounding out the mud-splattered podium at the 14th round of the 2023 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Series.

Chase Sexton took the holeshot with Roczen and Barcia in hot pursuit. An attempted pass on Sexton by Barcia ended with Roczen in the lead. Later that lap, Barcia completed a pass on Sexton, with Sexton going down and remounting in P8. Barcia took the lead on lap 7 (of 18) and was never challenged, winning by nearly 15 seconds.
Tomac ran in P3 until lap 14, when he passed Roczen, who was battling vision issues after discarding his sweat-fouled goggles. Sexton worked his way back up to P4, 42 seconds behind Barca. Despite being lapped by Barcia, Cooper Webb turned a P7 start into a P5 result.
Defending Supercross Champion Tomac’s P2 finish extends his lead in the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross Championship Series to 11 points over Webb and 21 points over Sexton with three rounds remaining. The next race is on Saturday at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. Check our 2023 Supercross Television Schedule for viewing information.
