2017 KTM 1290 Super Duke R First Look |
“The Beast 2.0”
KTM has revealed the 2017 KTM 1290 Super Duke R, which the Austria company describes as The Beast 2.0.
The big news is that the Super Duke R will be more powerful than ever in 2017, thanks to updating of the cylinder heads and intake on the aggressive V-twin. According to KTM, electronics have been updated to that the 1290 naked sportbike remains easy-to-ride when you aren’t Ready To Race.

Along with updated electronics, the 2017 KTM 1290 Super Duke R also get a new dashboard with a TFT readout which KTM promises will show “all important information in a clear and bright display.”
Finally, a new LED headlight means fewer parts and less weight for KTM’s flagship sportbike.
Price and availability of the 2017 KTM 1290 Super Duke R has yet to be released. However, we will be testing the SDR as soon as we can get our hands on it.
