BMW eRRBMW is known for its ventures in electric vehicles. The Bavarian brand has shown its electric automobile vision with its BMW i3 and i8 that feature full electric power, an aluminum chassis and a carbon-fiber passenger cabin.BMW Motorrad is also in the game with it’s C evolution electric-powered scooters. But BMW Motorrad is going to take it one step further with the new eRR, an electric supersport that is being created with the Technical University of Munich.
The BMW eRR uses the design and chassis technology found on the BMW S1000RR, but features an all-electric platform. Not many details are released of this writing, but BMW Motorrad is expected to release them shortly.Stephan Schaller, Head of BMW Motorrad, says: “Since their market launch, the RR is giving the creeps to motorsport athletes. If acceleration, handling or top speed – the RR is setting standards. However, if acceleration on the first meters, up to 50, 60 kph, is the point, the RR’s 199 base horsepower have to admit defeat by another BMW product: the C evolution with its electric drive.“We asked ourselves: What happens when combining a sport motorcycle and an electric drive? The experimental vehicle BMW eRR brings the topic zero emission and electric drive on a new, more fascinating level.”Stay clicked to Ultimate MotorCycling for further details.

This week, in the first segment Editor Don Williams talks to us about the new Kawasaki Versys 650 LT. It’s the middleweight ADV style machine that uses the same 650 parallel twin motor as the Ninja 650, so it’s an excellent performer in a user-friendly, good looking package.
In the second segment, I chat with one of my dearest industry friends—now retired Honda PR executive, Jon Seidel. Jon’s fascinating career spans some 30 years with Big Red, and gave him some great experiences with some incredible machines. I was fortunate enough to be invited on many of the press launches that he organized. His new project is documenting and saving many of the old archives from years gone by—and incidentally, if you have anything that may be of value to the project, please contact us by email at producer@ultimatemotorcycling.com and we’ll pass it all on to Jon.
So on that note, from all of us here at Ultimate Motorcycling, we hope you enjoy this episode!
