Win a Trip to the ER – Jeff Emig Ride in Rocky Mountains
Jeff EmigRM Rides, a subsidiary of Rocky Mountain ATV/MC that provides guided powersports trips, has launched a new contest – “Win a Trip to the ER.”The ER – or Emig Ride – will bring eight winners on an adventure ride in the Rocky Mountains August 31 – September 4 with Motocross legend Jeff Emig and the RM Rides crew.
“Are you sitting at your desk, daydreaming about riding your adventure bike in some beautiful location like Utah or Colorado? Well, wake up! RM Rides is going to send us on a free trip this September,” Emig says.“Join me and the group for an unforgettable ride from Moab to locations in southwest Colorado. Last year, we experienced breathtaking views, challenging terrain and an enjoyable time with new friends. I look forward to meeting this year’s contest winners, so good luck!”Eight winners will receive a prize package that includes hotel accommodations and meals for the duration of the trip. Winners will also receive $300 to assist in their travel to and from Moab, Utah, where the ride will begin and end. The 500-mile trip will take the riders through the scenic San Juan Mountains near Silverton, Ouray, and Telluride, Colo. About half of the ride will be on dirt roads and trails, allowing the riders to explore old mines and ghost towns while experiencing incredible scenery, Rocky Mountain ATV/MC reports.“2014 was the very first ‘Win a Trip to the ER’ contest, and what a pleasure it was,” said Emig. I grew up riding trails in Colorado with my father and brother, so riding this terrain brought back some great memories.”“Adventure riding is part of who we are,” said Dan Thomas, CEO and Founder of RM Rides. “We go adventure riding whenever we can. The Emig Ride contest is a great opportunity we have to reach out and give back to other adventure riders. Last year’s ride was incredible, and we expect it to be even better this year.”The contest will end on July 31. Hello everyone and welcome once again to Ultimate Motorcycling’s weekly Podcast—Motos and Friends.
My name is Arthur Coldwells.
This week’s Podcast is brought to you by Yamaha motorcycles. Discover how the YZF-R7 provides the perfect balance of rider comfort and true supersport performance by checking it out at YamahaMotorsports.com, or see it for yourself at your local dealer.
This week’s episode features Senior Editor Nic de Sena’s impressions of the beautiful new Harley-Davidson Low Rider ST that is loosely based around the original FXRT Sport Glide from the 1980s. Hailing from The Golden State, these cult-status performance machines became known as West Coast style, with sportier suspension, increased horsepower, and niceties including creature comforts such as a tidy fairing and sporty luggage.
In past episodes you might have heard us mention my best friend, Daniel Schoenewald, and in the second segment I chat with him about some of the really special machines in his 170 or so—and growing—motorcycle collection. He’s always said to me that he doesn’t consider himself the owner, merely the curator of the motorcycles for the next generation.
Yet Daniel is not just a collector, but I can attest a really skilled rider. His bikes are not trailer queens, they’re ridden, and they’re ridden pretty hard. Actually, we have had many, many memorable rides on pretty much all of the machines in the collection at one time or another.
From all of us here at Ultimate Motorcycling, we hope you enjoy this episode!
