It was only a matter of time before the aftermarket began releasing products for Yamaha’s new superbike, and Akrapovic recently did just that. The Slovenian exhaust maker released a GP Style Slip-On Line (Titanium) and optional link pipe.
Developed from the Akrapovic (r)evolutionary concept that has been so successfully showcased, the all-new Evolution Line exhaust system for the 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1 has been created for riders that demand maximum performance from their motorcycles (+3.6 HP at 13,700 rpm, −11.4 lbs / −52%).
The Evolution Line makes use of the company’s experience in top-level motorcycle racing. The ground-breaking muffler design has a high-tech carbon-fiber outer sleeve and end cap, with the rest of the system constructed from lightweight, beautifully finished titanium, designed to perfectly match the sporty nature and lines of the bike.
The Evolution-Line system offers increased engine performance and higher torque throughout the entire rpm range, as well as the unique Akrapovic racing sound to make it stand out from the crowd.
The design is perfectly matched to the contours of the high-performance R1, providing improved performance, higher torque output, and that unique Akrapovič racing sound to make the bike look and sound as great as it performs.
With a comprehensive and easy-to-follow mounting manual included with the system, these plug-and-play exhausts are easy to install. Both feature a removable noise reduction insert and Lambda connectors on the collectors. They also include a beautifully finished carbon-fibre heat shield and a carbon bracket that can be used with or without the passenger footrest.
Designed exclusively for the Yamaha YZF-R1, the Akrapovič Evolution Line and Racing Line exhausts will transform this machine and take it to a higher performance level, giving it more power and increased torque and making full use of the machine’s potential. These beautifully finished systems will totally change the look, sound, and performance of the R1.
