2015 Kawasaki Versys 1000 LT
Kawasaki’s official video for its 2015 Versys 1000 LT has one simple tagline – “change your view.”
This is exactly what the new Versys 1000 LT is designed to do as a motorcycle, the powerful upright tourer providing a platform for adventure-styled sport touring that can take riders to places far away from the norm.
But the words can also be directed towards the potential customer, considering the Versys 1000 is a direct competitor to other upright sport-tourers with adventure styling such as the Ducati Multistrada, Suzuki V-Strom 1000 and the all-new Aprilia Caponord 1200.
Kawasaki wants riders of these other bikes to change their views, and try out the new Versys 1000 LT. One thing’s for sure – we can’t wait to ride the new Versys 1000, which finally hits American shores for 2015. The 2015 model is entirely revamped over last year’s Versys 1000 that was only available in Europe and Canada.
The bike is powered by the 1043cc inline four transplanted from the Ninja 1000 – but the Versys powerplant was retuned for better street manners.
The Versys is also loaded with modern technology, such as the three-mode KTRC traction control, selectable engine Power Modes, ECO Economical Riding Indicator, ABS brakes, and the Assist and Slipper Clutch. The latter not only reduces the effort required on the clutch lever, but also limits back-torque when downshifting.
Speaking of the new Versys, which is a hybrid word of “Versatile” and “System,” Kawasaki says “It is this combination of engine, technology, comfort, nimbleness, versatility and reliability that has made the model so popular in Europe and around the world, and now US riders can enjoy its tremendous street bike virtues as well.”
We think the official video attached above does this statement justice, but we will know more once we finally get to ride it. For additional on the Versys 1000 LT, visit 2015 Kawasaki Versys 1000 LT First Look.
