2014 Ducati 899 Panigale Video
Though many thought Ducati would wait until EICMA in November to release the information on its new mid-weight superbike, the Italian manufacturer unveiled the new bike on Monday.
The motorcycle? The 2014 Ducati 899 Panigale, which Ducati calls the “Supermid.” Like Ducati’s previous generations of mid-weights, the 899 models directly off its other sibling, the 1199 Panigale.
The 899, which replaces the Ducati 848EVO, arrives with a 898cc Superquadro L-Twin that produces 148 horsepower, a Monocoque frame, a double-sided swingarm, the latest electronics, including three riding modes and eight levels of traction control, and the styling of the 1199.
And like the 1199, the 899 gets 15,000-mile service intervals.
Ducati released the above video to help launch the 899, titled “Your road to the track.” For a preview of the bike, click here.
