Roland Sands Barfly Jacket – Inspired by Charles Bukowski?

RSD Barfly Motorcycle Jacket

Barfly. For fans of the back-alley poet Charles Bukowski, this term brings about much. Not only his lifestyle, but also the 1984 film dedicated to the writer featuring Mickey Rouke and Fay Dunaway.

Was this movie some influence on Roland Sands while researching a custom bike build? Sands isn’t saying, but a piece of apparel just surfaced bearing the same name – the RSD Barfly jacket.

Constructed of top shelf materials such as hand-finished oiled/waxed top grain cowhide, this jacket is smoother than 15-year-old scotch.

Roland Sands says: “With the Barfly, we’ve produced a more relaxed fit jacket that’s at home on your bike, on the strip or at your local watering hole. The Barfly takes cues from vintage flat track racing with its elemental simplicity, rolled collar and zip-closed cuffs.”

The design also allows for a little room to move as well as space for layering or wearing with a hoodie.

Don’t let the relaxed approach and high-end style fool you, though. This jacket is still packed with all the protective elements and road-worthy materials featured in every RSD jacket.

Highlights include:

– Hand-finished, washed and oiled / waxed top grain cowhide (.9mm-1.1mm thick)
– Perforated leather interior trim, arm venting and rolled collar
– Zip closed cuffs and pockets
– Satin poly lining with custom RSD numbers repeat design
– Stretch mesh interior cargo stuff pockets
– Armor ready shoulder, elbow and back protector pockets

Available in either Black or Tobacco, and sizes S-3XL, the Roland Sands Design jacket carries an MSRP of $480.

Don’t miss last call for the Barfly… with this combination of style, functionality and comfort, it is sure to go fast.
